Shin-Etsu is the largest Japanese company operating globally in various segments of the chemical market, such as PVC and silicon production. Shin-Etsu’s products are used in many ways, for example in construction but also in everyday products. The organization has locations worldwide and uses their own modern production technology. Together, Shin-Etsu’s factories have a production capacity of 4.15 million tons and generate a revenue of over 4.7 billion dollars. Kaya works specifically with the department that produces silicon, used by well-known consumer brands like L’Oréal. Shin-Etsu is known for their strong logistic services. Working in the manufacturing industry, a strong and reliable ERP system is crucial for Shin-Etsu to optimally run their logistic processes.
For that reason, Kaya upgraded Shin Etsu’s Dynamics AX 2012 system to Dynamics 365. We have implemented many modules, such as a financial module, procurement, sales, logistics, warehousing, and production. We will implement even more modules for Shin-Etsu in the future, namely CE, marketing, and HR. Additionally, we will be implementing Board for them. Kaya is working on the system integrations as well, such as the integrations with Shin-Etsu’s headquarters and logistic services provider. Now that we have gone live, we are also providing Shin-Etsu with support and optimizations. The challenge of our project with Shin-Etsu is that they opened a new production facility which immediately had to run with Dynamics 365. For this new facility, various integrations were also needed, for instance with their production system and other machinery. Working with Shin-Etsu, Kaya makes use of the Kanban method.
